Ways to Help the Passage of LB 257 Before the Public Hearing

Please support by sending letters or testifying in person.

Send a letter to the Health and Human Services Committee of the Nebraska Legislature:

Instructions for Sending Letters:

  • Send a group email to all seven members.

  • Keep your letter concise (no more than one page).

  • Reference LB 257 clearly in your letter.

  • Deadline: 8:00 AM on Friday, February 7, 2025 (the day of the hearing).

Submit Comments Online to All 49 Senators

  • Visit the Nebraska Legislature website.

  • Click Bills and Laws, then search for LB 257.

  • Click Submit Comments Online (middle of the page).

  • Post your letter (less than 500 words).

At the end of the hearing, the chair will read aloud the number of comments submitted and the names of the senders. These comments will be part of the permanent official record.

Deadline for online comments: 8:00 AM on Friday, February 7, 2025.


To Testify in Person:

  • Date: February 7, 2025

  • Time: 1:30 PM

  • Location: Room 1510, 1st Floor, Nebraska State Capitol

For testimony at the hearing, you are not allowed to use more than three minutes. There will be green, yellow, and red lights at the table to indicate time.

Senator Quick, our bill introducer and a member of the HHS Committee, advises that there need to be testifiers present besides myself, and plenty of letters.
