Portability LB 257 Next Steps Post Public Hearing

Dear NAMFT Member,

The LB 257 public hearing was a success. Thanks to testifiers Adrian Martin and Heidi Applegarth—they were very engaging with the Health and Human Services Committee.

We have letters of support from NAMFT members, MFTs who are non-NAMFT, and NASW-NE via Submit Comments Online.

Senator Quick, who introduced the bill, shall advocate for us on the Committee as he is one of the seven members.

At one photo, we held the “I Love MFTs” llama gifted by AAMFT, with whom we partner.

The strong show of support is reminiscent of the times when we introduced our own bills, such as Certification for MFT under LMHP in 1993, and LIMHP so that we could be LIMFT in 2007. We stand up for our profession—that is the true mission of NAMFT.

The life of a bill has many stages. We now hope the Committee will advance it out of Committee and be ready for floor debate. Please write a line or two to them:
